Piano Recital (Piano not Included)

A Goldman Ensemble presentation

A hilarious show for anyone who has ever had a really bad day.

Following its success at the Brighton Fringe Festival, Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) explores the backstage disasters as well as the daily joys and struggles of professional musicians. It is full of humour, combining music and theatre as it has never before been seen. After all, what happens when a pianist is booked but a tuba player arrives? And what can be done with a drunken violinist?

Piano Recital (Piano Not Included) was inspired by a true story . . . It is March 2008. St Martin-in-the-Fields is packed with an expectant audience, blissfully unaware of the panic taking place behind the small door to the left of the stage. Less than thirty minutes to go and the pianist who was to perform with the Goldman Ensemble at the prestigious performance has not yet arrived. He is stuck in the mayhem of London traffic, made especially worse by the extensive road works within the city. But the show must go on. Can the concert really go ahead without a pianist?

Written, acted and performed by the Goldman Ensemble, four exceptional musicians playing violin, French horn, tuba and percussion, come together to create a unique partnership, sharing their love of music and a joie de vivre that is impossible to resist.
