Bancroft Players 200 Club

This year I have passed a cheque over to the treasurer for £450 as the 200-club donation. In the past our donation has provided; a new glass washer for the bar and a new ice cream fridge and coffee maker for the refreshment bar. This year our donation will be given to the Youth Wing Appeal. I am sure all members will be in total agreement with this decision.

As most of you know, I am giving up running the 200-club. After some eight years I feel that it is time to let someone else take charge. Someone with the drive and energy to increase the membership etc. Thank you for all of your continued support over the years and I hope you will continue under the leadership of the ‘lovely' Paula Downes

As many of you will know, Mike Everitt stood down at the recent AGM as Organiser of the 200 Club after 8 years excellent work. I would also like to add my thanks to Mike for all his efforts with the Club.

Well, it does seem to be a bit like history repeating itself, as of course two years ago I took over from Mike as organiser of the Front of House Manager rota. No, Mike, I don't think I want to take over any more of your tasks!

One of my first jobs is to try and encourage more of you to join this excellent Club. It costs just £12 a year to be a member and we have monthly draws with the following sums going to those lucky members whose number comes out: £25, £20, £15 and £10. This is an excellent and, to my mind, cost effective way to help your Society. The Club annually donates between £400 and £500 to the Society to help it with its various projects to keep your wonderful theatre updated in all aspects.

And the joy of all this is that you don't have to be a member of the Bancroft Players to join the 200 Club. May be you have a friend or relation who comes to our shows and would like to do a bit more for this great Society but doesn't actually want to join as a member of the BPs. Well, this is one way they can help. Also perhaps there are people out there who read this Newsletter on our excellent website and would also like to be involved a little more but cannot give us their time, well how about giving us some money, which you could easily win back in the first month. How about that for a good deal! And better still, if we get enough new subscribers, we can reinstate the half-yearly £50 prize

If you are interested in joining – it is quite simple, either drop me an email to paula.downes@ntlworld.com or call me on 01462 685288. I will send you a Banker's Order to complete and away we go.

I am standing by for the rush!
