"Brideshead Revisited"
7th – 10th November
bigredfunbus productions are working closely with the Queen Mother Theatre to produce an exciting version of the classic story, Brideshead Revisited.
This delightful adaptation of the Evelyn Waugh classic is set between the First and Second World Wars, Brideshead Revisited tells the story of Charles Ryder and his relationship with the aristocratic Flyte family, particularly the flamboyant Sebastian (and his teddy bear Aloysius) and his beautiful socialite sister Julia. Charles falls in love with both of them and we follow his journey from the dreaming spires of Oxford to the outbreak of the 2nd World War.
The cast consists of some familiar faces including, Charles Plester, Natalie Gordon, Laura Powell-Eddy and Ian Mutton, some recent QMT new-comers Zoë Watkins and Christine Mackinven (from Daisy Pulls it Off) and some absolute newbie’s in the guise of Andrew Powell-Eddy, Richard Llewellyn and Martyn Jolly. The latter 2 actors taking the parts of Charles Ryder and Sebastian Flyte respectively. The parts bought to life so famously by Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews in the Granada TV serial.
With Nicki Pope in the directors' chair and a sturdy set of regulars propping everything up backstage, I’m sure we’ll have a great success.
Production dates are Weds 7th to Sat 10th November and tickets are only £9. If you bring your own Aloysius teddy bear on the Weds night – you’ll get £1 off the price of your ticket!
