Letter from the Chair
April has been a fairly quiet month for the BP’s, but not for the QMT! The theatre has been buzzing with a number of external productions and companies enjoying the wonderful facilities we have.
Having said that we’ve been a busy bunch too with respects to other areas of our theatrical life. For those who have been to the theatre since the Easter break you will have seen the new carpet in the bar and foyer areas. I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who put in time to help take the old carpet up – it saved us a few pounds doing it ourselves and for those who came down was actually quite fun – although the bad backs, blisters and sore knees we’ve all got now are taking their toll! ;o)
We’ve also had our first One-Act play festival combining the winners of the play writing competition and the new directors workshop – four great plays that definitely got people chatting in the bar afterwards. I’m hoping this is the start of a tradition that will keep running and something we can invest in for the future.
As you read this I will probably be tackling some lost Inca tribe or doing backstroke up the Amazon trying to escape the piranha – but I hope to see you all soon.
P.S. Remember the AGM is only a month away. This is your society, so please make sure you come along.
