“Wild East”

There is sometimes a discussion within the Executive Committee about whether we should continue to book in shows under the banner of the Artistic director. The funding is constantly under threat from local government cuts and some of the shows have been pretty poorly attended and so end up losing us money rather than earning it. However, earning money is not the primary focus, its to keep the QMT as a venue offering a variety of artistic and theatrical experiences and as such should be cherished.

WILD EAST is a major new play by April de Angelis whose recent work includes Playhouse Creatures which had a long and successful run at the National Theatre. The group ironically enough called Not the National Theatre. I booked the show because it is currently on a national tour and the QMT will be their smallest venue. Do come along and support this show - you will love it, I promise. And it will keep QMT in business as a touring venue for professional shows.
