Audition Notice - "ART"

I am delighted to announce that I will be directing "ART" at The Queen Mother Theatre in Hitchin.

This is a really exciting opportunity for three men to be a part of the local theatre premier of this West End Hit.

Serge has brought a modern painting for a huge sum of money. Marc hates it and cannot believe that a friend of his could possibly want such a work. Yvan attempts, unsuccessfully, to placate both sides. If your friendship is based on tacit mutual agreement, what happens when one person does something completely different and unexpected? The question is: Are you who you think you are or are you who your friends think you are?

The three characters display certain traits, however my goal is to have a team of three actors, who work together, explore the relationships of their characters and find their own interpretation of Serge, Marc and Yvan. The parts have been played by many different actors in the West End and on tour; therefore I am not looking for particular "types".

Those of you that have worked with me before know that I genuinely "direct" my actors, lots of character work, loads of notes, some good, and some bad! But my ultimate aim is to help you to gain as much from you character / performance as possible, and to ensure the audience have a damn fine time too. It will be hard work, but fun.

The performance dates are Monday 18th - Saturday 24th September, you will have to be free the weekend before for Dress and Tec runs, and also probably most evenings the week before, depending on how it's looking.

Rehearsals are Tues and Thurs evenings - however I will be able to be flexible with these.

Audition dates are Tues 6th and Thurs 8th June. If you are unable to attend these dates, let me know and we will work something out.
