About the Bancroft Players

The Bancroft Players The society was established as a local drama group at the end of the Second World War. Since 1983 the society's home has been its own purpose built venue - The Queen Mother Theatre.

A detailed history including a list of all productions from the first 50 years are included in The Bancroft Players 1945 - 1985, A Personal View by Keith Crook. Excerpts can be read in our brief online history of the Bancroft Players.

Members of the Bancroft Players take part in productions either on stage or behind the scenes. There is lots to do including building scenery, making costumes and finding suitable props. For more information on joining the society and what you can do as a member, please see our Join Us section.
